A fresh start

Is it time for a fresh start? Maybe you got into some bad habits last year and want to change. You could also have a fresh start by moving house, changing jobs or joining a gym! The start of a new year can be a good time to turn over a new leaf, which is another good expression to mean to start again. Out with the old, in with the new as they say.

Examples

“She’s had a tough time since her husband died, so she’s decided to move to a smaller house for a fresh start.”

“I’ve turned over a new leaf and bought myself a watch to make sure I’m no longer late for meetings!”

“The students now type everything on computers instead of writing in books. Out with the old, in with the new!”
